Select “Hardware and Sound”, then select “Device Manger”įrom there, click and expand “Human Interface Devices” I ran control panel, went into device manager: – This was my starting point, completely Non-functional. Sometimes, it will appear as unknown device, so you cannot even change it to Generic USB. Often they simply will not detect the X52, unless you manually change it in device manager to Generic USB device. The problem is then compounded by the fact that the new Logitech drivers, come with their own set of issues. I used to use the “Madcatz” software, but that doesn’t work, and will not detect the X52 under win10, and USB3 (well not in my case anyway). Firstly, some of the solutions you see, which are correct, talk about the programming software / grid view, joystick icon on the notification area. So I finally put a bit of time into this to try to figure it out, and got the solution. I had this working, but for some reason, it does not (or rather did not) work with new Logitech drivers for Win10. Please share your solution and help me finally get out of this frustrating problem, so that I can play and enjoy this game aswell. For all you pilots out there who are having issues with the pinkie switch.

SAITEK X52 SOFTWARE WONT WORK PRO
I've decided to write my post here since X52 Pro is obviously the best joystick solution for Elite, thus many of you probably have it and maybe even experienced the same problems as I do. Only the very basic functions of binding buttons inside the game are functional, but this is not what I expect from this joystick since I need to utilize several hot-swap profiles, custom macros and other useful features of the SST programming suite for complex space simulators such as the X series or Elite: Dangerous. And the SST is not functional at all- although my computer registers all the buttons correctly, and I even see a red flash animation on the SST tray icon after I press any button, I cannot emulate any keys by them anymore and my mouse stick on the throttle knob isn't being registered as a mouse aswell, also the scrollers under the MFD aren't changing LED brightness anymore, only the stopwatch and time settings work. The problems are that I either get no characters at all or glitchy ones, like "NP prifele" instead of "No profile", or Med1 instead of Mode 1, etc. I've already contacted Mad Catz support several times, but it always ended up with them requesting me to try it on another Windows 8 system which I unfortunately can't. But the installation lets me finish and computer recognizes the joystick correctly afterwards, it just cannot remember the time settings, the latched profile button, and displays wrong version information.Īnd at the end of the setup of the SST programming suite I get a blank error window saying only this:īetween each setup I've properly uninstalled the thing with uninstaller, then from device menu, cleaned the Saitek and MadCatz registries as advised, simply all the steps Saitek suggests to do when installing a different version. I connect the flight stick only after I'm asked to, I run it with admin privileges, and I use a back USB2.0 port (tried several of them, same results).
SAITEK X52 SOFTWARE WONT WORK INSTALL
Now that I've upgraded to a new computer with Windows 8 Pro 64bit, I can't properly install the drivers and the programming suite for already a year and half.ĭuring the installation of the drivers (tried the newest version, the 7.0.27.13, the SD6, none worked) I get an error with PlugAndPlay device.

I own this flight stick for years and never had any problems with it back in the days on XP.
